Kari Lavelle is a children’s author whose work focuses on non-fiction picture books. According to her official website and publisher Simon & Schuster, Lavelle has a background in advertising and has written for young readers with an emphasis on engaging factual content. Her debut picture book, We Move the World, was published by HarperCollins in 2021. Lavelle’s writing often explores themes of discovery and the impact of individuals throughout history.
In addition to her debut, Lavelle authored Butt or Face?, published by Sourcebooks Explore in 2022. This interactive non-fiction book invites children to guess whether close-up animal photographs show a face or a bottom, combining humour with educational facts about animals. The book is designed to encourage curiosity and observation skills in young readers.
Kari Lavelle’s work is published in the United States and is available internationally. Her book Butt or Face? was published by Sourcebooks Explore in 2022.
