Joëlle Veyrenc is a French children’s author and clinical psychologist. She previously taught in early years and primary education before focusing on writing for younger audiences.
Veyrenc’s debut picture book is The Paper Bridge, published in 2025. The story centres on Anya, a child in a paper village who builds a kirigami bridge to cross a chasm and unite communities. She collaborated with illustrator Seng Soun Ratanavanh, and the English edition was translated by Katy Lockwood-Holmes.
Her author biography highlights her background as a clinical psychologist and former teacher in Paris, with a focus on stories of imagination, sharing and emotional growth.
The Paper Bridge was published by Floris Books in June 2025.
