Recommended reading books for primary & secondary aged children in the UK
Joaquín Camp is an Argentine illustrator, graphic designer and author of picture books. He was born in Buenos Aires and studied graphic design and illustration at the University of Buenos Aires, where he later taught illustration.
Camp works internationally as an illustrator and has collaborated with publishers in Argentina, Spain, Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Saudi Arabia.
His work has been recognised in illustration circles: he was selected for the Bologna Book Fair Illustrators’ Exhibition, including in 2019, and in 2020 he won the International Illustrated Picture Book Contest for his book Aníbal, the Ghost Dog.
As an author-illustrator, Camp published The Jump, a picture book about a child on a diving board facing the fear of jumping, which has appeared in editions across Italy, Mexico and Korea.
He also illustrated A Sleepless Night, published by Transit Children’s Editions, working with text by Micaela Chirif.
