Recommended reading books for primary & secondary aged children in the UK
Jillian Morris is a marine biologist, children’s non-fiction author, and conservation educator. She founded the Sharks4Kids initiative to promote shark awareness and marine science education.
Born and raised in Maine, Morris has spent thousands of hours diving and working with sharks around the world. She has held roles including scuba instructor, educator, and expedition scientist, and has appeared in media outlets such as Shark Week.
In collaboration with Duncan Brake and illustrator Steve May, she co-authored Shark Super Powers, a non-fiction title published in June 2020 by UCLan Publishing. The book presents shark behaviours across double-page spreads, mixing scientific facts with accessible visuals.
Morris has also written poetry and children’s titles under the name Jillian A. Morris, publishing works across genres. Her official site lists her books and biographical details.
