Jessica Yoon biography

Jessica Yoon is a Korean American children’s author whose books include picture books, children’s nonfiction and licensed fiction. She is a member of the Harrisburg Asian Writers Collective and in 2023 received the Anti-Bias Book Bearer Scholarship from the Highlights Foundation at Boyds Mills.

Yoon’s books include BLACKPINK: A Little Golden Book Biography, illustrated by Honee Jang and published by Golden Books in 2025, and My Little Golden Book About K-pop, illustrated by Suji Park and published by Golden Books in 2026. The latter introduces young readers to K-pop music, its history and fandom, with references to performers including BTS, BLACKPINK, Twice and Stray Kids.

Her picture book Jeong Is Jeong, illustrated by Michelle Lee and published by Make Me a World in February 2026, follows a Korean American girl learning about the meanings contained in the Korean word ‘jeong’ during a day with her grandmother. Yoon also wrote The Legend of Ban-Dal, illustrated by Seo Kim and published by little bee books in May 2026. The book is a new Korean folktale exploring how the Asian black bear acquired its distinctive white chest marking.

Yoon is also the author of KPop Demon Hunters: The Official Deluxe Junior Novelization, published by Random House Books for Young Readers in March 2026. The book retells the Netflix animated film about K-pop group HUNTR/X, whose members perform as pop stars while protecting the world from demons. The novelisation became a number one New York Times bestseller.
