His style is described as a fusion of traditional Vietnamese art and manga, using pencils, ink, watercolours and digital techniques. Zdung illustrated the graphic novel Saving Sorya: Chang and the Sun Bear by Trang Nguyen, published by Kingfisher, an imprint of Macmillan.
In 2023, Zdung won the Yoto Carnegie Medal for Illustration for his work on Saving Sorya. His manga “Stand Up and Fly” received a Silent Manga Audition Excellence Award.
