VIKA Books credits Thompson as the illustrator behind the original hand-drawn augmented reality illustrations used for the Baby BSL project, which combines printed materials with a smartphone app to support British Sign Language use with children.
Within the Baby BSL range, VIKA Books publishes Where is the Bird?, an augmented reality board book designed to be used alongside the Baby BSL smartphone app, with 3D animations and videos demonstrating BSL signs. The associated project description states that the title showcases 20 everyday BSL signs, including augmented reality animations and BSL videos demonstrated by children from Elmfield School for Deaf Children.
