Isabel Galleymore is a British poet and academic whose work often explores themes of nature, ecology, and the relationship between humans and the environment. She is the author of the poetry collection Significant Other, published by Carcanet in 2019. This collection was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best First Collection in 2019.
Galleymore has contributed poems to a range of literary journals and anthologies. Her poetry is noted for its engagement with the natural world, drawing on her experiences and research in environmental humanities. She has also published a pamphlet, Dazzle Ship, with Worple Press in 2014.
In addition to her writing, Galleymore is a lecturer in creative writing at the University of Birmingham. Her academic work includes research into ecopoetics and the representation of nonhuman life in literature. She has participated in residencies, including a residency in the Amazon rainforest, which has influenced her creative and scholarly output.
