Hatem Aly biography

Hatem Aly is an Egyptian-born illustrator. His illustrated work includes The Inquisitor’s Tale by Adam Gidwitz, The Unicorn Rescue Society series, the Story Pirates series, Meet Yasmin with Saadia Faruqi, The Proudest Blue with Ibtihaj Muhammad and S. K. Ali, In My Mosque by M. O. Yuksel, Raj’s Rule (for the Bathroom at School) by Lana Button, How to Feed Your Parents by Ryan Miller, and Ethan and the Strays by John Sullivan. The Inquisitor’s Tale was a Newbery Honor Book in 2017.

Aly illustrated Meet Yasmin! by Saadia Faruqi, published on 1 August 2018, and The Proudest Blue by Ibtihaj Muhammad and S. K. Ali, published on 22 October 2019. He also illustrated Ethan and the Strays by John Sullivan, published on 3 October 2023, and The Book That Almost Rhymed by Omar Abed, published on 26 March 2024.
