Harry Woodgate is a children’s author and illustrator. Their debut picture book, Grandad’s Camper, was published by Andersen Press in 2021 for readers aged 4 to 8. The story centres on a girl, her grandad, memories of Gramps, and a pink campervan used for past adventures around the world.
Grandad’s Camper won the British Book Award for Children’s Illustrated Book and the Waterstones Children’s Prize for Best Illustrated Book, and it was a Stonewall Honor Book. Woodgate’s picture book Timid was published by Little Tiger Group in 2022 and follows Timmy, a child who loves performing but feels anxious about being in front of an audience.
Woodgate illustrated Little Glow by Katie Sahota, published by Owlet Press in 2021, a picture book about a small candle observing celebrations of light across the year. They also illustrated The Very Merry Murder Club, a 2021 Farshore mystery anthology edited by Serena Patel and Robin Stevens, and The Super Sunny Murder Club, a 2024 summer-themed mystery anthology for readers aged 9 to 14.
Woodgate wrote and illustrated The Great Cake Caper, the first book in the Cinnamon Crumb, Baking Detective series. The book is a highly illustrated middle-grade mystery about Cinnamon Crumb, her family bakery, a baking competition and an investigation into possible cheating; Atheneum Books for Young Readers gives its publication date as 3 November 2026.
