Dan Ojari biography

Dan Ojari is an Oscar-nominated director and writer who also creates children’s books. As a boy, he was home-educated with his four siblings, and that gave him time to draw and dream. He works at Aardman Animations.

Ojari wrote Robin Robin with Mikey Please, with illustrations by Briony May Smith. The hardback edition was published on 2 November 2021, and a paperback edition followed on 13 October 2022. Robin Robin is a picture book retelling of the animated musical special about a young robin raised by a family of mice.

He also wrote Is This a Plum? with Finn Ojari. The book is published by Puffin and is scheduled for publication on 23 April 2026. It is a picture book built around rhyming reveals, visual tricks and die-cut holes in the pages, and its 23 April 2026 publication is a specific recent milestone in Ojari’s children’s publishing work.
