Circle Yuen biography

Circle Yuen is a Hong Kong-born author and illustrator based in the UK. She completed an MA in Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art.

Her unpublished work was selected for the dPictus Unpublished Picturebooks Showcase, and the hiding kite: a story of a family storm was longlisted for the Illustrators Exhibition at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in 2024.

Yuen writes and illustrates picture books about family change. Her book Our Dance: Living Apart, Time Together was created in collaboration with the National Association of Child Contact Centres and introduces child contact centres through the story of a girl whose parents separate.

Her later picture book Mama’s Wedding is listed for publication by Lantana Publishing on 3 September 2026.

Lantana Publishing lists Yuen’s work as longlisted for the 2026 Klaus Flugge Prize.
