Chris Bradford biography

Chris Bradford is a British author best known for his children’s and young adult fiction. He is the creator of the Young Samurai series, which began with The Way of the Warrior published by Puffin in 2008. The series follows the adventures of an English boy in 17th-century Japan and has been translated into multiple languages.

Bradford has also written the Bodyguard series, first published by Puffin in 2013, which centres on a teenage bodyguard working for a covert British organisation. The series includes titles such as Hostage, Ransom, and Ambush.

In addition, Bradford authored the Samurai: The Way of the Warrior graphic novel and the Jake Atlas adventure series, which began with Jake Atlas and the Tomb of the Emerald Snake in 2017, published by Walker Books.

Bradford’s work has received recognition in the form of award nominations. Young Samurai: The Way of the Warrior was shortlisted for the 2009 Red House Children’s Book Award and the 2009 Waterstone’s Children’s Book Prize. The Bodyguard series was shortlisted for the 2015 Hampshire Book Award.

Chris Bradford is also known for his school visits and interactive author events, where he demonstrates martial arts techniques related to his books. His most recent series is The Soul Hunters, published by Puffin in 2020.
