Chloë Perrin is a Welsh middle-grade fantasy author whose debut novel His Royal Hopeless was published by Chicken House. It was longlisted for the 2019 Times/Chicken House Children’s Fiction Prize.
Perrin studied Creative Writing at Brunel University. Before her debut she worked as a youth worker, drama tutor and professional storyteller.
His Royal Hopeless tells the story of Robbie Sinistevil, heir to the Sinistevil dynasty, who struggles with expectations imposed by his family while he tries to prove he belongs. The narrative combines humour with themes of identity and belonging.
The book is illustrated by George Ermos.
