Chelsea Pitcher is an American author known for writing young adult fiction. Pitcher’s debut novel, The S-Word, was published by Gallery Books in 2013. The book explores themes of bullying and its consequences in a high school setting. In 2018, Pitcher released This Lie Will Kill You with Margaret K. McElderry Books, a Simon & Schuster imprint. This novel is a young adult thriller involving a group of teenagers invited to a mysterious mansion, where secrets from their past resurface.
Pitcher’s other works include They Whisper in My Blood and Begin Again. This Lie Will Kill You was nominated for the 2020 Edgar Award for Best Young Adult Novel by the Mystery Writers of America. Pitcher’s books have been published in multiple languages and are available internationally.
In 2021, Pitcher published Lie With Me, a companion novel to This Lie Will Kill You, also with Margaret K. McElderry Books. Pitcher’s writing often addresses complex social issues and features diverse characters. This Lie Will Kill You was also selected as a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection.
