Caroline Crowe is a British author of children’s books. She began her career as a journalist before turning to writing for children. Her debut picture book, Pirates in Pyjamas, was published by Little Tiger Press in 2015. The book was illustrated by Tom Knight and was shortlisted for the Sheffield Children’s Book Award in 2016.
Crowe has written several other picture books, including Is That an Elephant in My Fridge? (2017), Tiny Tantrum (2017), and How Do You Make a Rainbow? (2020). Her book How to Grow a Unicorn, illustrated by Cally Johnson-Isaacs, was published in 2020. In 2021, she published Our Incredible Library Book (and the wonderful journeys it took), illustrated by John Joseph.
Her work has been published by Little Tiger Press and Macmillan Children’s Books. How to Grow a Unicorn was shortlisted for the 2021 Laugh Out Loud Book Awards (Lollies). Crowe’s books have been translated into several languages.
In 2023, she published The Very Merry Murder Club, a collection of short stories co-authored with other writers and edited by Serena Patel and Robin Stevens. Crowe’s books are widely available in the UK and internationally.

Santa’s New Reindeer all children will enjoy and I think will result in it becoming a favourite Christmas read. It is a pleasure to read aloud to a young audience who I have no doubt will enjoy it enormously, especially as the reader has to say ‘poop’!
