Ben Handicott is a British author known for his contributions to children’s non-fiction. He has written and co-authored several titles published by Wide Eyed Editions, an imprint of Quarto Publishing Group. Handicott is the co-author of Atlas of Adventures: Wonders of the World (2018), which explores global landmarks and cultural sites, and Atlas of Adventures: World Wonders (2019), both illustrated by Lucy Letherland. He also wrote What a Wonderful Word (2016), illustrated by Paul Boston, which introduces children to unique words from different languages and cultures.
Handicott’s works have been translated into multiple languages and are held in libraries internationally. Atlas of Adventures: Wonders of the World was shortlisted for the 2019 Edward Stanford Children’s Travel Book of the Year. His books are published by Quarto Publishing Group and are distributed in the UK and internationally.
In 2020, Handicott published Atlas of Adventures: Activity Fun Pack, a companion to the Atlas series, featuring puzzles and activities for children. His titles are frequently used in educational settings to support geography and language learning. Atlas of Adventures: Wonders of the World was recognised by the Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards in 2019.
