Arree Chung biography

Arree Chung is a children’s book author and illustrator known for his engaging storytelling and vibrant illustrations. He studied at the Art Center College of Design, where he honed his skills in illustration and design. Before venturing into children’s literature, Chung worked as a designer and art director at Pixar, contributing to the visual development of animated films.

Chung’s debut picture book, Ninja!, was published in 2014 by Henry Holt and Co. The book received positive reviews for its playful narrative and dynamic artwork. Following the success of his first book, Chung released a sequel titled Ninja! Attack of the Clan in 2016, continuing the adventures of the young ninja protagonist.

In addition to his work on the Ninja! series, Chung authored and illustrated Mixed: A Colorful Story, published in 2018. This book explores themes of diversity and acceptance through the story of primary colours living in harmony. Mixed was well-received and praised for its creative approach to discussing important social themes.

Chung has also collaborated with other authors, providing illustrations for various children’s books. His work is characterised by a distinctive style that combines bold colours and expressive characters, appealing to young readers and their families.
