Alice Lin biography

Alice Lin is a young adult author with a professional background in public libraries. She holds a master’s degree in library and information science from Rutgers University. Her fiction is published by imprints of Random House Children’s Books.

Her debut YA novel, Fireworks, was published by Underlined in 2022. The contemporary romance follows seventeen-year-old Lulu Li, whose plans for the summer before college change when her childhood friend Kite Xu returns from South Korea. Kite has become a member of the K-pop group Karnival, and his return gives the pair an opportunity to rebuild their friendship while dealing with the pressures surrounding his fame. Penguin Random House recommends the book for readers aged 12 and over.

Lin’s second novel, Love Points to You, was published by Delacorte Romance in March 2025. Its sixteen-year-old protagonist, Lynda Fan, hopes to attend the Rhode Island School of Design but needs money to pursue her plans. She accepts a job from classmate Angela Wu designing characters for an otome game, a romance-based role-playing game, and their working relationship develops into something more personal. The novel is also published for readers aged 12 and over.

Love Points to You was Lin’s second published YA novel and appeared in paperback, ebook and audiobook editions from Random House Children’s Books in March 2025.
