Aiden Thomas biography

Aiden Thomas is an author with an MFA in Creative Writing from Mills College. They are a queer, trans Latinx writer whose novels include Cemetery Boys, Lost in the Never Woods, The Sunbearer Trials and Celestial Monsters.

Cemetery Boys is Thomas’s debut novel and was published on 1 September 2020. The young adult paranormal story follows Yadriel, a trans boy who summons a ghost while trying to prove himself a brujo to his family. Cemetery Boys was longlisted for the National Book Award for Young People’s Literature and was a Top Ten pick for YALSA Best Fiction for Young Adults.

Lost in the Never Woods was published on 23 March 2021. The novel is connected to the Peter Pan story through Wendy Darling, who is working as a hospital volunteer when attention turns to missing children and a boy from her drawings.

The Sunbearer Trials was published on 6 September 2022 and opens The Sunbearer Duology. The Mexican-inspired fantasy follows Teo and other semidioses competing in a series of challenges with serious consequences.

Celestial Monsters is Volume 2 of The Sunbearer Duology and was published on 3 September 2024. The audiobook edition names Aiden Thomas as author and André Santana as reader.
