Adrian Besley biography

Adrian Besley is a British freelance writer and former BBC copywriter. He has written numerous non-fiction books about popular culture, music, sport and record-breaking achievements, including a series of YouTube World Records titles.

Besley has written several unofficial biographies of major K-pop artists. BTS: Icons of K-Pop, published by Michael O’Mara Books in 2018, traces the South Korean group’s development and international success. The publisher records sales of 50,000 copies in the UK and translations into 16 languages. Besley followed it with EXO: K-Pop Superstars and Blackpink: K-Pop’s No.1 Girl Group. A revised and updated edition of Blackpink was published by Michael O’Mara Books in April 2023.

His other music books include 5 Seconds of Summer Confidential, Ariana and Billie Eilish: From e-girl to Icon. His work generally combines biography with information about performers’ music, careers and popular culture, providing accessible introductions for readers interested in contemporary music.

In 2026 Michael O’Mara Books published Rosalía: The Making of a Modern Pop Icon: The Unauthorized Biography, Besley’s biography of the Spanish singer and songwriter.
