Victoria Topping biography

Victoria Topping is a British illustrator, artist and printmaker whose work combines traditional and digital techniques. She studied Illustration at the University of the West of England, graduating in 2008.

Topping has held solo exhibitions in the UK and Europe, including shows in London, Barcelona, Strasbourg, Ibiza and Bristol. Her practice includes printmaking, painting, collage and multimedia artwork, often involving vivid colour and bold forms.

Her first book as illustrator was Mythologica: An Encyclopedia of Gods, Monsters and Mortals from Ancient Greece, written by Dr Stephen Kershaw, published in 2019. The book was awarded Amazon Children’s Non-Fiction Book of the Year 2019.

Victoria Topping also works in graphic design and art direction: she is Artistic Director for On the Corner Records, a London-based independent record label. She has produced artwork for record sleeves and illustrated works related to festivals, wine producers and brands.

Awards and nominations include: Mythologica was nominated for the CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal.
