Vicky Woodgate is a British writer and illustrator of non-fiction children’s books.
She graduated from Chelsea College of Art and has more than 25 years of experience working as a scenic artist, prop maker and art director in the theme-park, TV and film industries. She now works in publishing, editorial, design and illustrating as well.
Her published books include Urban Jungle (2017), A World of Birds (2018), A World of Dinosaurs (2020), The Magic of Sleep (2021), The Magic of Seasons (2022), The Magic of Forests (2023), I Can See Nature’s Rainbow (2023), The Around the World Animal Adventure (2025), and I Am Big I Am Small (2025).
Woodgate’s work has been translated into numerous languages, including Japanese, German, Italian, Chinese, Korean, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Danish, Finnish, Spanish (Europe and South America) and Kurdish.
Her book Urban Jungle was long-listed for the Waterstones Children’s Book of the Year in 2018.
