Timothy Knapman biography

Timothy Knapman is a British author, playwright, and lyricist. He has written numerous books for children, including Dinosaurs in the Supermarket!, illustrated by Sarah McIntyre, and Superhero Dad, illustrated by Joe Berger. His works have been published by major publishers such as Walker Books, Macmillan Children’s Books, and Egmont.

Knapman’s picture books include Mungo and the Picture Book Pirates and Mungo and the Spiders from Space, both illustrated by Adam Stower. He has also collaborated with Helen Oxenbury on Time Now to Dream and with Patrick Benson on Follow the Track All the Way Back. His stories have been translated into multiple languages.

In addition to his work as an author, Knapman has written plays and musicals for adults and children. His books have been featured in reading schemes and have appeared on recommended reading lists for schools. Superhero Dad was shortlisted for the Booktrust Storytime Prize in 2016.
