Tim Warnes biography

Tim Warnes is a British author and illustrator known for his work in children’s picture books. He has illustrated numerous titles, often collaborating with other writers as well as creating his own stories. Warnes studied illustration at university before beginning his career in publishing.

His illustrations are recognised for their expressive animal characters and gentle humour. Among his notable works are the Little Tiger series, which he created with author Julie Sykes. He has also worked with author Steve Smallman on books such as Bear’s Big Bottom and Monty and Milli: The Totally Amazing Magic Trick. In addition to illustrating, Warnes has written and illustrated his own books, including Dangerous! and Thank You for Being My Friend.

Warnes’s books have been published by several major publishers, including Little Tiger Press and Nosy Crow. His work has been translated into multiple languages and is available internationally. He is also known for his collaborations with his wife, author and illustrator Jane Chapman, with whom he has produced a number of picture books.

In 2015, Tim Warnes’s book Dangerous! was shortlisted for the Sheffield Children’s Book Award.
