Recommended reading books for primary & secondary aged children in the UK
Tillie Cole is a British novelist whose work spans contemporary romance, dark romance, new adult and young adult fiction. She began publishing in 2013 and has since written bestselling standalones and series for adult and teen readers.
Cole’s early novels include the university-set Sweet Home sequence (from 2013). She followed with the biker-romance cycle Hades Hangmen, launched with It Ain’t Me, Babe (2014) and continued across multiple volumes through 2020. Her books combine high-stakes plots with strong romantic arcs and have developed a substantial international readership in print, ebook and audio formats.
Her best-known young adult title is A Thousand Boy Kisses (2016), a contemporary romance that gained a wide teen audience and later saw renewed popularity with BookTok readers. A companion novel, A Thousand Broken Pieces, appeared in 2024. A film adaptation of A Thousand Boy Kisses has been announced, with development publicised in 2024.
Alongside these works, Cole has written standalones across subgenres of romance and continues to alternate between series and individual novels. Publisher and bookseller listings record her books in multiple territories, with standard bibliographic data for school and library use.
