Tania McCartney biography

Tania McCartney is an Australian author, illustrator and editor who works in children’s literature. She has written and illustrated picture books, non-fiction titles and junior fiction. Her work often focuses on travel, history and culture.

Her non-fiction titles include Australian Kids Through the Years and Australia Illustrated.

The Plume series by Tania McCartney comprises four primary works: Plume: Festival Seeker, Plume: World Explorer, Plume: Global Nibbler and Plume: Christmas Elf. Related series by McCartney include A Kid’s Year, the Riley series and Evie and Pog.

McCartney is a founding member of the Australian Children’s Laureate Foundation. In 2023, her picture book Plume: Festival Seeker was published by Hardie Grant Children’s Publishing.
