Sujin Witherspoon biography

Sujin Witherspoon is a Korean-American author of young adult fiction. She earned a BA in English from the University of Washington and began publishing shortly after graduation, focusing on contemporary romance for teen readers.

Her debut novel, Bingsu for Two (Union Square & Co., 14 January 2025), is a romcom about two teens who fake-date online to rescue a struggling Korean dessert café. The book blends social-media celebrity, workplace comedy and family dynamics, and is positioned for secondary-school readers. On release it was highlighted in round-ups of anticipated YA titles and featured on best-of-the-month lists from major booksellers and media.

Witherspoon’s second novel, Seyoon and Dean, Unscripted (Union Square & Co., scheduled 7 April 2026), continues her focus on high-energy romance centred on ambition, competition and public performance.

Alongside fiction, Witherspoon contributes interviews and features for reader communities, discussing tropes, character development and the influence of fandom on contemporary YA romance. Her public author materials describe a wider interest in speculative and horror concepts for teen audiences.
