Steve Tomecek is an American author and science educator known for writing children’s books that explore scientific concepts. He has written numerous titles focusing on earth science, physical science, and hands-on experiments for young readers. Tomecek has worked as a geologist and has experience developing science programmes for children.
Among his published works are Dirt: The Scoop on Soil, What a Great Idea!, and Jump Into Science: Moon. His books often include activities and experiments designed to engage children in scientific discovery. Tomecek has collaborated with various illustrators and has contributed to educational series published by National Geographic Kids and Scholastic.
In addition to his writing, Tomecek has served as a science consultant and has developed educational materials for museums and science centres. He has also been involved in creating science content for television and multimedia platforms.
Steve Tomecek’s book Dirt: The Scoop on Soil was published by Scholastic in 2002.
