Sherry D. Ficklin is an American author of young adult fiction. She is best known for The Stolen Empire series, a set of historical YA novels inspired by the early life of Catherine the Great, beginning with Queen of Someday and continuing in sequels that follow her rise at the Russian court.
Ficklin’s work spans historical, contemporary and speculative YA. Her 1920s-set novel The Canary Club explores jazz-age glamour and organised crime. With Tyler H. Jolley she co-authored The Lost Imperials, a steampunk/time-travel sequence that includes Extracted, Prodigal and Riven. She has also written the techno-thriller trilogy originally published as #Hacker and later reissued as the Geek Girl Mysteries – beginning with Playing With Fire – alongside the standalone paranormal title Losing Logan and the fantasy trilogy The Gods of Fate.
Her books appear across trade and digital imprints and are aimed at teen readers who enjoy fast-paced plots, romance and high-stakes drama in historical or high-concept settings. Series extensions and companion volumes to The Stolen Empire followed the initial trilogy, adding further perspectives from the same world.
Selected works: Queen of Someday (Stolen Empire); Queen of Tomorrow; Queen of Always; later companion volumes in The Stolen Empire; The Canary Club; with Tyler H. Jolley: Extracted, Prodigal, Riven (The Lost Imperials); Playing With Fire (Geek Girl Mysteries); Losing Logan; Foresight, Second Sight, Hindsight (The Gods of Fate).
