Sheena Davies biography

Sheena Davies is a British author–illustrator of children’s books. She holds degrees in Graphic Design and in Children’s Book Illustration from Cambridge School of Art and has taught art at the Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts.

Working across watercolour, gouache, pen and ink, wax resist and collage, Davies produces picture-book narratives that foreground careful observation of the natural world. Her debut as both author and illustrator, Unity Street School Saves the Planet (Otter-Barry Books, 2025), follows a primary class as they transform a neglected corner of their school into a wildlife area, introducing rewilding and practical conservation for early readers.

The book has been issued internationally in multiple formats, with a hardback edition listed at 32 pages (ISBN 9781915659613). Trade and library catalogues highlight its curriculum relevance for environmental themes and whole-class discussion.

Alongside book work, Davies continues to develop illustration and educational projects informed by studio practice and classroom experience.
