Sarah Shaffi is a journalist, editor and author. Her journalism has appeared in the Guardian, The A.V. Club, Vogue Australia and The New Arab. She has also written for the publishing trade press, with articles in The Bookseller from 2015 onwards.
South Asian Folktales, Myths and Legends retells stories from across South Asia for young readers. She also co-authored the picture books Afraid of the Dark, published on 1 October 2020, and New Baby, published by Little Tiger in 2022, both with Isabel Otter and illustrated by Lucy Farfort.
Shaffi has served as a judge for the Jhalak Prize, the Costa Novel Award and the Orwell Prize for Political Fiction. She programmed a fiction strand for The Bath Festival in 2023. In April 2024, she was part of the launch of The Review by WritersMosaic and Jhalak as the curator for forthcoming titles.
