Sarah J. Maas writes fantasy fiction and is the author of the Throne of Glass, A Court of Thorns and Roses and Crescent City series. Throne of Glass was her first novel, and it began the Throne of Glass series in 2012. The series follows assassin Celaena Sardothien and comprises eight books published over six years, including Crown of Midnight, Heir of Fire, Queen of Shadows, Empire of Storms, Tower of Dawn, Kingdom of Ash and the prequel novella collection The Assassin’s Blade.

A Court of Thorns and Roses is her fantasy series blending romance, adventure and faerie lore. The series begins with A Court of Thorns and Roses, in which huntress Feyre is taken into the magical realm of Prythian after killing a wolf. The series so far includes A Court of Thorns and Roses, A Court of Mist and Fury, A Court of Wings and Ruin, A Court of Frost and Starlight and A Court of Silver Flames.

Her Crescent City series begins with House of Earth and Blood, a contemporary fantasy about half-Fae, half-human Bryce Quinlan. House of Flame and Shadow is the third Crescent City book. A Court of Thorns and Roses 6 is scheduled for publication by Bloomsbury Publishing on 27 October 2026.
