Sara Ogilvie biography

Sara Ogilvie is a British illustrator and printmaker known for her work in children’s literature. She studied illustration and printmaking at Edinburgh College of Art. Ogilvie has illustrated numerous children’s books, collaborating with a range of authors.

Among her notable works is her collaboration with author Anna Kemp on the picture book Dogs Don’t Do Ballet, published by Simon & Schuster. She has also illustrated books by author Julia Donaldson, including The Detective Dog, published by Macmillan Children’s Books. Ogilvie’s illustrations are recognised for their expressive characterisation and lively style.

In addition to her work in publishing, Ogilvie has experience in printmaking and has exhibited her artwork in various galleries. She has also worked on projects for clients in editorial and design fields.

Sara Ogilvie was shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal in 2017 for her illustrations in The Detective Dog by Julia Donaldson.
