Ryan Calejo biography

Ryan Calejo is an American author known for writing children’s and young adult fiction. He is the creator of the Charlie Hernández series, which draws inspiration from Latin American myths and legends. The first book in the series, Charlie Hernández & the League of Shadows, was published by Aladdin, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, in 2018. The story follows a young boy who discovers a world of mythological creatures and embarks on an adventure rooted in Hispanic folklore.

The series continued with Charlie Hernández & the Castle of Bones, released in 2019, and Charlie Hernández & the Golden Dooms, published in 2022. Calejo’s work has been noted for its incorporation of cultural heritage and its focus on adventure and discovery for young readers.

In addition to the Charlie Hernández series, Ryan Calejo has written Ryder Strong and the Holiday Doom, which was published by Amulet Books in 2023.
