The Language of Angels: The Reinvention of Hebrew won the Sydney Taylor Book Award and the National Jewish Book Award. Fascinating: The Life of Leonard Nimoy received a Massachusetts Book Award Honor and the Sydney Taylor Award Silver Medal, and it was an NCSS Notable Book.

As Good as Anybody was published by Knopf on 13 May 2008, with illustrations by Raúl Colón. The picture book connects the childhood experiences and later civil-rights work of Martin Luther King Jr. and Abraham Joshua Heschel, including the 1965 Selma-to-Montgomery march.

One of a Kind, illustrated by Sarah Green, was published by Calkins Creek on 13 February 2024. The book tells the true story of Sarah Brenner, who became Sydney Taylor, and explains how Taylor’s writing helped children see Jewish culture represented in books.

What Louis Brandeis Knows: A Crusader for Social Justice Becomes a Supreme Court Justice, illustrated by Stacy Innerst, was released on 7 October 2025 as a children’s biography about Louis Brandeis, the first Jewish U.S. Supreme Court justice.
