Rex Ogle biography

Rex Ogle writes children’s books, comics, graphic novels, memoirs and young adult fiction. His books include Free Lunch, Punching Bag, Abuela, Don’t Forget Me, Road Home and When We Ride. He also writes graphic novels under the pen name Rey Terciero.

Free Lunch won the YALSA Excellence in Nonfiction for Young Adults Award. Abuela, Don’t Forget Me was a finalist for the YALSA Excellence in Nonfiction for Young Adults Award. Punching Bag, published by Norton Young Readers on 5 October 2021, continues Ogle’s memoir writing about childhood and adolescence.

Four Eyes: A Graphic Novel is the first book in the Four Eyes series. It was written by Rex Ogle, illustrated by Dave Valeza and coloured by Ash Szymanik, and was published on 2 May 2023. The story is a graphic memoir about Ogle’s move into middle school.

When We Ride is a young adult novel by Rex Ogle, published on 25 March 2025. Absent is a middle grade novel by Rex Ogle scheduled for publication by Norton Young Readers on 1 September 2026.
