Philip Kavvadias biography

Philip Kavvadias is a children’s author, playwright, poet, illustrator and screenwriter. His official author biography also states that he works in sustainability and volunteers as a Scout leader.

Kavvadias writes middle-grade fiction. His debut novel, Mission: Microraptor, was published by Chicken House on 11 April 2024. The story begins a children’s adventure series centred on a microraptor discovered by two boys during a school trip to the Alps.

In September 2023, The Bookseller reported that Chicken House had acquired three books by Kavvadias. The report stated that Mission: Microraptor would be the first novel in the deal, with interior illustrations by Euan Cook.

The second book in the series, Mission: Manta Ray, followed in 2024. A third title, Mission: Monster Mind, is also listed as part of the Mission: Microraptor series.

Mission: Microraptor was published by Chicken House on 11 April 2024.
