Paul Humphrey is a children’s nonfiction writer and longtime publishing professional. A graduate in history and economics from the University of East Anglia, he has worked in children’s publishing for over 35 years as an editor, publisher, packager, and author.
Humphrey has written more than 40 books for readers aged 5–12, covering early concepts, science, history, geography, and PSHE topics. His series work includes Franklin Watts’ classroom staples such as Reading Roundabout and The Changing Seasons, along with titles in the Knights and Castles strand. Representative books include Building a Castle, People Everywhere, Summer, Autumn, Winter, What Was It Like Before the Telephone?, How to Make a Card, and the road-safety title Look Out on the Road.
His books are widely used in UK primary libraries and topic teaching, with accessible text supported by clear layouts and photography or illustration.
