N.S. Blackman is a British author and illustrator of adventure books for children. The Dinotek Adventures was Blackman’s first series for young readers, and it began from a story told to children during a long holiday walk when they were interested in dinosaurs and museums.
Blackman’s Dinotek Adventures books feature Marlin Maxton and living metal dinosaur machines called Dinoteks. The Secret Dinosaur: Giants Awake! is the first book in the series and was published on 18 November 2013. The Secret Dinosaur: Jurassic Adventure was published on 26 November 2013, and The Secret Dinosaur: Hunters Attack! was published on 30 December 2013.

Blackman’s later children’s work includes Freedom For Bron, a historical adventure set in the Anglo-Saxon era. Freedom For Bron was published on 1 June 2016 as a 192-page paperback, with accompanying KS2 activity sheets.
