Michael Grant biography

Michael Grant is an American author known for his work in children’s and young adult fiction. He co-created the Animorphs and Everworld series with K. A. Applegate. Grant is the author of the Gone series, which began with the novel Gone published by HarperCollins in 2008. The series includes six main books: Gone (2008), Hunger (2009), Lies (2010), Plague (2011), Fear (2012), and Light (2013). A follow-up trilogy, Monster (2017), Villain (2018), and Hero (2019), continues the story.

Grant wrote the BZRK trilogy, published by Egmont: BZRK (2012), BZRK Reloaded (2013), and BZRK Apocalypse (2014). He is also the author of the Messenger of Fear series, which includes Messenger of Fear (2014) and The Tattooed Heart (2015). His standalone novel Front Lines (2016) is the first in the Soldier Girl trilogy, followed by Silver Stars (2017) and Purple Hearts (2018), published by Katherine Tegen Books.

Grant’s books have been translated into multiple languages and published internationally. The Gone series has appeared on bestseller lists and received recognition from the American Library Association, including selection for the ALA Best Books for Young Adults list. Front Lines was nominated for the 2017 Carnegie Medal. In 2019, Gone was included in the BBC’s list of 100 Novels That Shaped Our World.
