Meredith Russo biography

Meredith Russo is an American author known for her work in young adult fiction. Her debut novel, If I Was Your Girl, was published by Flatiron Books in 2016. The novel centres on the experiences of a transgender teenager navigating life and relationships in a new town. Russo, herself a transgender woman, has drawn on her own experiences to inform her writing.

If I Was Your Girl received recognition within the literary community, including winning the Stonewall Book Award in 2017. Russo’s second novel, Birthday, was published by Flatiron Books in 2019.
