Mark Pett is an American author and illustrator known for his work in children’s picture books. He has both written and illustrated several titles, often focusing on themes of creativity, individuality, and self-discovery. Pett is the creator of the syndicated comic strip Lucky Cow, which ran from 2000 to 2010.
Among his notable works as both author and illustrator are The Girl Who Never Made Mistakes (2011), co-authored with Gary Rubinstein, and The Boy and the Airplane (2013), which is a wordless picture book. He also wrote and illustrated The Girl and the Bicycle (2014), another wordless story, and This Is My Book! (2016), which explores the relationship between an author, an illustrator, and their characters.
Pett has collaborated with other authors as an illustrator, including working with Audrey Vernick on The Teacher’s Funeral and with Mac Barnett on Lizard from the Park. His books have been published by imprints such as Simon & Schuster and Knopf Books for Young Readers.
Mark Pett’s picture book The Boy and the Airplane was published by Simon & Schuster in 2013.
