Marc Abraham biography

Dr Marc Abraham OBE, also known as Marc the Vet, is a veterinary surgeon, author, broadcaster, filmmaker and animal welfare campaigner. He qualified as a veterinary surgeon from Edinburgh University in 1995.

His books for adult readers include Vet on Call, Pets in Need, Lucy’s Law: The Story of a Little Dog Who Changed the World and #BeMoreMosquito: How You Can Campaign and Create Change.

Abraham founded Pup Aid in 2009 as a puppy-farming awareness campaign. He also led the Lucy’s Law campaign in Westminster, which resulted in legislation in England banning the commercial third-party sale of puppies and kittens.

His broadcast work has included appearances on BBC Breakfast, Sky News and ITV’s Tonight. He was a producer on the documentary Dog By Dog and released the documentary Dogspiracy in 2025.

Leon’s Reef is Abraham’s first children’s picture book. Illustrated by Siân Roberts and published by Award Publications on 4 June 2026, the book follows Leon on an underwater journey and includes themes of empathy, inclusion, anti-bullying, plastic pollution and protecting the ocean environment.

Abraham was awarded an OBE for services to animal welfare.
