Lui Sit writes middle-grade fiction, short stories and non-fiction. Her debut children’s novel, Land of the Last Wildcat, was chosen as Waterstones Children’s Book of the Month in May.
She also writes under the name Scarlett Li. As Scarlett Li she is the author of The Lucky House Detective Agency, illustrated by Siân James and published by Knights Of in 2025 in collaboration with Storymix. The mystery follows young detectives Felix and Isaac, who run their agency from a family takeaway and become involved in a case involving a broken jade plant and a mysterious ancient coin.
Her work often highlights themes of family, friendship and community, while drawing on cultural heritage and contemporary settings to create engaging stories for young readers.
