Logan-Ashley Kisner biography

Logan-Ashley Kisner is a young adult author whose work combines horror and thriller elements with themes of identity and survival. He holds a BA in creative writing with a minor in film studies and has written critically about transgender characters and imagery in the horror genre.

His debut novel, Old Wounds (2024), follows two transgender teens who find themselves trapped in an isolated town where locals intend to sacrifice one of them to a monster that only eats girls. Kisner’s second YA novel, The Transition (2025), centres on a trans teen whose post-operative recovery is upended after a werewolf bite forces him to confront unwanted bodily change.

In 2024 Kisner signed a two-book North American deal for the horror and thriller titles Trans Panic and Docile Creatures. Alongside fiction, he continues to draw on his background as a horror historian to inform projects aimed at teen readers.

Old Wounds was a finalist in the LGBTQ Young Adult category at the 37th Lambda Literary Awards in 2025.
