Linh Dao is a Vietnamese-born illustrator and animator whose work includes children’s books and editorial illustration. She is represented by The Bright Agency and works in both digital and traditional media, including watercolour and mixed media. Her published illustration work includes educational and natural-history books for children.
Dao has illustrated titles for Albatros Media including How Plants Talk by Helena Haraštová, Diary of a Bee, The Life of a Butterfly, The Life of a Ladybird and books in the Curious Dragon series. She also illustrated Robin Král’s Usínací knížka, published by Pikola.
For Walker Studio, Dao illustrated The Endless Sea, written by British Vietnamese filmmaker Chi Thai. Published in March 2025, the picture book recounts Thai’s childhood journey as a refugee from Vietnam to the UK by sea. Dao created the artwork digitally, using contrasts of light, darkness and colour to depict the family’s experiences during the journey.
The Endless Sea was shortlisted for the 2026 Carnegie Medal for Illustration and for the Information Books category of the 2026 UKLA Book Awards.
