Eagar’s debut novel, Hour of the Bees, was published by Candlewick Press in 2016. The book received recognition for its blend of magical realism and family themes.
Following her debut, Eagar published Race to the Bottom of the Sea with Candlewick Press in 2017. Her subsequent works include The Bigfoot Files (2018) and The Family Fortuna (2022), both also published by Candlewick Press. Eagar’s writing often explores themes of family, folklore, and adventure, and her books are aimed at middle grade readers.
In 2016, Hour of the Bees was longlisted for the Carnegie Medal.
