Leigh Bardugo is an American author known for her work in young adult fantasy fiction. She is the creator of the Grishaverse, a fictional universe featured in several of her novels. Bardugo’s debut novel, Shadow and Bone, was published by Henry Holt and Company in 2012. This book is the first in the Grisha Trilogy, followed by Siege and Storm (2013) and Ruin and Rising (2014).
She expanded the Grishaverse with the Six of Crows duology, consisting of Six of Crows (2015) and Crooked Kingdom (2016). Bardugo continued the universe with the King of Scars duology: King of Scars (2019) and Rule of Wolves (2021).
In addition to her Grishaverse novels, Bardugo has written Ninth House (2019), an adult fantasy novel published by Flatiron Books. She has also published short stories and novellas, including The Language of Thorns: Midnight Tales and Dangerous Magic (2017) and The Lives of Saints (2020).
Bardugo’s works have appeared on the New York Times Best Seller list. Shadow and Bone was adapted into a Netflix television series, which premiered in 2021. Her books have been translated into multiple languages and published internationally.
Leigh Bardugo received the 2019 Inkpot Award for her contributions to science fiction and fantasy. Ninth House won the 2020 Goodreads Choice Award for Best Fantasy. Her most recent Grishaverse novel, Rule of Wolves, was published in 2021.
