Laurel Remington biography

Laurel Remington is a children’s author whose work focuses on contemporary themes for young readers. Her debut novel, The Secret Cooking Club, was published by Chicken House in 2016. The story centres on a young girl who discovers friendship and confidence through baking, and it has been recognised for its relatable characters and engaging narrative.

Remington’s writing often explores family, friendship, and self-discovery. Following her first book, she continued the series with The Secret Cooking Club: Confetti & Cake and The Secret Cooking Club: Carnival Chaos, both published by Chicken House. These sequels further develop the protagonist’s journey and introduce new challenges and adventures.

In addition to the Secret Cooking Club series, Remington has written Songbird, also published by Chicken House. This novel tells the story of a girl navigating changes in her family and school life, with music playing a central role in her personal growth.

Laurel Remington’s debut novel, The Secret Cooking Club, won the Times/Chicken House Children’s Fiction Competition in 2015.
